Marlene Hope

Marlene is the Founder and President of Committed2Change Consulting. She served with the Calgary Police Service (CPS) for 26 years. While with the CPS, she completed supervisory duties, acting as a Team and Patrol Sergeant, investigative duties, acting as a Detective in the Specialized Investigative Section and worked in the Office of Inclusion, Development and Employee Engagement, Human Resource Section. Marlene was also assigned to the Sex Crimes Unit (SCU) and the Behavioural Sciences Unit. During her time with the SCU, she worked with Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA) and Alberta Health Services to implement the Third Option Program. These experiences have uniquely positioned Marlene as a workplace investigator, allowing for specialization in allegations of sexual harassment or assault while also providing her with a keen understanding of the dynamics involved in workplace complaints and the resolution process.

Marlene has certificates in Criminology, Human Resource Management, Senior Police Administration, Equine Facilitated Learning, and Mediation /Third-Party Intervention. Additionally, Marlene is a certified Trauma-Informed Investigator and Professional Coach. She has also completed various specialized training, including in Forensic Experiential Trauma-informed Interviewing (FETI©) and holds certification as a Human Resource Management professional, a Qualified Mediator (ADR Insititute of Canada) and an ICF Certified Professional Coach.

Marlene Hope is certified as a Competent Investigator by the Government of Canada, a designation that ensures that she has undergone extensive training and conducted a significant number of complex investigations that qualify her to perform in allegations of harassment and workplace violence for various Federal departments. Marlene Hope is also currently retained by several post-secondary institutions in Alberta to provide an elevated response to internal investigations. In addition, Marlene provides client support through workplace investigations, restorative practices, mediation, conflict coaching, and personal and business coaching. and conducted investigations for numerous private and non-profit organizations.
